Storm Reid’s Gia won’t be part of Euphoria Season 3.
Reid played Georgia “Gia” Bennett, the sister of Zendaya’s Ruby “Rue” Bennett, in the first two seasons of HBO’s Euphoria, which was created by Sam Levinson. Following a number of delays, production on Euphoria Season 3 is now expected to kick off in early 2025.
Speaking with Rotten Tomatoes at the Governors Awards, however, Reid said she won’t be a part of Euphoria Season 3.
What did Storm Reid say about Euphoria Season 3?
“I’m very excited for Season 3,” Reid said. “Unfortunately, Gia’s not returning for the third season. But I am so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO. Euphoria’s a really special, a really special thing. I’m so glad that’s a part of my legacy and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon. I’m forever grateful, forever indebted, and I can’t wait to see what Season 3 has in store. I’m very excited.”
Per Variety, HBO has declined to comment on the matter.
Along with Zendaya and Reid, the cast of Euphoria includes Alexa Demie as Madeleine “Maddy” Perez, Jacob Elordi as Nathaniel “Nate” Jacobs, Sydney Sweeney as Cassandra “Cassie” Howard, Colman Domingo as Ali Muhammed, Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs, Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn, and Dominic Fike as Elliot.
Euphoria Season 3 will consist of eight episodes. Plot details remain under wraps at this time.
“We are shooting Euphoria,” HBO’s Casey Bloys said, via Variety, earlier this month. “I think we have a start date, mid to late January. Nothing’s changed. Somebody said something online, and then this whole thing started. We are shooting the season. I have read the scripts. We’re happy. We’re moving ahead. All of the actors are in the show.”
A premiere date for Euphoria Season 3 has not yet been announced.
