Netflix and BBC have officially announced A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 renewal for its newest teen mystery drama starring Wednesday breakout Emma Myers. Production on the next installment is expected to begin sometime in 2025. This comes after five months since the series made its international debut on Netflix.
What book is A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 based on?
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 will be based on author Holly Jackson’s 2021 sequel novel Good Girl, Bad Blood, which involved Pip’s true-crime podcast going viral. The next installment will be written by Jackson and Poppy Cogan, who are also executive producing. The cast will once again be led by Myers as Pip Fitz-Amobi and Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh.
“After solving the Andie Bell case Pip‘s world has been transformed by her actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout – and stay away from any more investigations,” reads the official Season 2 synopsis. “But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the ‘good girl’ she once was.”
The six-episode series is executive produced by Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins, Frith Tiplady, Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton, and Katherine Bond. It hails from Moonage Pictures for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo. Following its debut, Season 1 was able to reach the number one spot on the streamer’s Global Top 10 TV (English) list.
