Good Omens Season 3 Is Just 1 Episode, Neil Gaiman Involvement Clarified

Good Omens Season 3 will be a single, 90-minute-long finale episode.

Good Omens Season 3 was previously planned to be the last entry of the Amazon Prime Video series, which was created by Neil Gaiman. The show is based on Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s 1990 novel of the same name.

Production on the third season of Good Omens was put on hold, however, in September when Gaiman was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.

Per Variety, Prime Video has now announced that Good Omens Season 3 will consist of just one 90-minute episode. Production is now expected to continue in early 2025 in Scotland.

Is Neil Gaiman involved with Good Omens Season 3?

“According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Gaiman had contributed to the writing of the series finale, but he will not be working on the show once production resumes,” Variety’s article states. “He is also no longer listed among the show’s executive producers for the final episode.”

A co-production between Amazon MGM Studios and BBC Studios, the first season of Good Omens premiered in May 2019. It was originally intended to be a limited series; however, due to its popularity, it was renewed for a second season in June 2021. The second season was released in July 2023, with the show then being renewed for a third and final season in December 2023.

The show stars Michael Sheen as an angel named Aziraphale and David Tennant as a demon called Crowley. The cast also includes Jon Hamm as Gabriel, Doon Mackichan as Michael, Gloria Obianyo as Uriel, and Frances McDormand as the voice of God.

Good Omens Season 3 will be executive-produced by Narrativia’s Rob Wilkins, who represents Pratchett’s estate, and BBC Studios Productions’ Josh Cole.

A release date for the Good Omens Season 3 finale episode has not yet been announced.
