Minari’s Youn Yuh-jung has joined the cast of Beef Season 2.
The first season of the anthology series Beef, created by Lee Sung Jin, premiered on Netflix in April 2023. Starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, the A24 show won Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, and more.
Netflix has now announced that Youn Yuh-jung has joined the cast of Beef Season 2. Her character details remain under wraps at this time.
Youn won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for starring in 2020’s Minario, which was directed by Lee Isaac Chung. She also plays a character in the Apple TV+ series Pachinko and will soon be seen opposite Lily Gladstone and Kelly Marie Tran in Andrew Ahn’s reboot of The Wedding Banquet, which arrives in 2025.
Who else is in the Beef Season 2 cast?
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Oscar Isaac (Dune, Moon Knight), Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman, The Great Gatsby), Charles Melton (May December, Riverdale), and Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Civil War) are all part of Beef Season 2’s cast.
“A young couple witnesses an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner,” the logline for Beef Season 2 reads.
Beef Season 2 will consist of eight episodes, a slight change from the first season’s 10-episode format. Lee Sung Jin serves as an executive producer alongside Yeun (who also starred in Minari), Wong, and Jake Schreier.
A release date for Beef Season 2 has not yet been announced. The first season of Beef, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Netflix.
