Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp recently touched upon the relationship that his character Will Byers shares with Finn Wolfhard’s character Mike Wheeler in Season 5 and whether there is any sort of romance between the two. Season 5 of Stranger Things will air on the streaming platform Netflix in 2025. With this being the last season of the horror/thriller drama, fans have been excited to witness what will transpire at the end of the show.
Noah Schnapp on Will and Mike’s romance possibilities in Stranger Things Season 5
Noah Schnapp was recently present at the Upside Down Con, centered around Stranger Things.
As per a report by The Direct, the actor was asked about whether his character Will Byers has any romantic feelings for Finn Wolfhard’s character, Mike Wheeler. He stated that answering the question can cause some trouble for him, considering it might become a spoiler.
However, Schnapp eventually stated, “How has their relationship evolved? I think it has had its ups and downs. I feel like you could tell right from the beginning that Mike and Will were a pair. Then there was Lucas and Dustin, who were a pair.”
While Schnapp did not confirm any potential romantic relationship between Will and Mike, he said, “Mike was always super protective of Will and would always lean on him, and you could never really tell if it was something romantic or just a really special friendship.”
In Season 4 of Stranger Things, the show did hint at Will Byers having some sort of crush on Mike Wheeler. Noah Schnapp also addressed this in a 2022 interview with Variety. There, he shared that now that Will is in high school, the makers have “made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike.”
