Billie Eilish Rumored to Join Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 Cast

Speculation about Billie Eilish’s involvement in Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2 has intensified after reports named her as a potential candidate for the role of Jane. Sources report that several A-listers, including Eilish, are being considered for the lead role. The studio is actively searching for new actors to take over the iconic characters of John and Jane.

Amazon reportedly wants Billie Eilish to play Jane in Mr. & Mrs. Smith Season 2

Amazon MGM Studios is seeking actors in their 20s for John and Jane in Season 2 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Deadline reports that “A-list names, including Billie Eilish, have entered the rumor mill,” though no formal offers have been made. Eilish, a two-time Oscar-winning musician, debuted in Donald Glover’s series Swarm and is reportedly in talks for the upcoming season.

Season 1 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, created by Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane, starred Glover and Maya Erskine as two spies who assume the identities of John and Jane Smith. The season ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, with the characters caught in a gunfight.

Sloane described the finale as a “nod to a ’70s cinema cliffhanger,” leaving the fate of the characters ambiguous. When asked if Glover and Erskine would return, Sloane stated, “If we tell you too much, you’ll know early if they survived.”

Speculation about new leads has sparked rumors that the show may adopt an anthology approach, similar to Fargo. Sloane hinted at this possibility, responding with a succinct “maybe” when asked if each season would feature new characters. According to Deadline, the new John and Jane would be “different characters, not replacements” for the original leads, potentially allowing Glover and Erskine to reprise their roles in some form.

Amazon MGM Studios has yet to confirm casting developments for Season 2. Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, stated, “I think audiences will get everything they want when they come back.”
