Stranger Things Season 5 is one of the most anticipated projects scheduled for 2025 as it was announced that this will be the final season of the hit Netflix series.
Premiering originally in 2016, the hugely popular series has broken numerous Netflix viewership records and has seen a lengthy gap already between the end of its fourth season, which concluded in July 2022, and the beginning of Season 5. Recently, one of the series’ editors, Dean Zimmerman, spoke about how the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, have been crafting the ending to avoid an upset similar to the Game of Thrones finale.
Stranger Things Season 5’s Duffer Brothers want to ‘stick the landing’ with ending
Editor Dean Zimmerman recently spoke with Screen Rant about his work on Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine. However, during the chat, Zimmerman also touched on what Stranger Things creators, the Duffer Brothers, have planned for the ending of Stranger Things Season 5.
Speaking about Stranger Things Season 5, Zimmerman said that things are in “full swing” and that the scale of the season will be “bigger than anyone’s going to ever imagine.” Zimmerman also had nothing but praise for creators Matt and Ross Duffer, saying, “It always just boggles my mind how insanely brilliant the Duffer brothers are [with] coming up with new and crazier ways to do this.”
Speaking about the Duffer Brothers’ approach to Stranger Things Season 5, the editor stated, “Their whole mission is to stick the landing on this final season where, controversially, a lot of people say Game of Thrones did not; they don’t want that, and they won’t settle for anything but perfection.”
Speaking about the length of the final season, Zimmerman also mentioned that fans “will have about the same amount, maybe a little more, content than we did season 4.”
