Sugar Season 2 Set for Colin Farrell Show, First Details Revealed

Apple TV+ has announced that Sugar Season 2 has officially been greenlit, with the streaming platform bringing back the critically acclaimed series led by Colin Farrell.

What do we know about Sugar Season 2?

While not a whole lot is known about Sugar Season 2, Apple has teased that the second season will see Sugar back in Los Angeles taking on another missing person’s case and continuing to look for answers on his missing sister.

Sugar Season 2 will see Sam Catlin step in as showrunner with Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg co-executive producing alongside him. Farrell, Scott Greenberg, and Chip Vucelich will also serve as executive producers on the series.

“Sugar is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture, and television history: the private detective story,” reads the first season’s description. “Academy Award-nominee Colin Farrell stars as John Sugar, an American private investigator on the heels of the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. As Sugar tries to determine what happened to Olivia, he will also unearth Siegel family secrets; some very recent, others long-buried.”

Alongside Farrell, Sugar Season 1 featured Kirby (Sandman), Amy Ryan (The Wire), James Cromwell (Succession), Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), Dennis Boutsikaris (Better Call Saul), Nate Corddry (Mindhunter), Sydney Chandler (Don’t Worry Darling), and Alex Hernandez (Invasion).

The series was created and executive produced by Mark Protosevich and co-executive produced by Adam Arkin. It is also executive produced by Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg for Genre Films, as well as Sam Catlin, Scott Greenberg, and Chip Vucelich. Fernando Meirelles executive produced and directed the series.
