Colin Farrell had to undergo a complete transformation to play the role of Oz Cobb in HBO’s The Penguin. According to Farrell, that even included adding on a fake crotch.
Speaking to People ahead of The Penguin’s premiere tonight, Farrell reflected on the arduous makeup process it took to become Cobb. One scene in particular saw Cobb naked (although the audience can’t see anything), and Farrell remarked that artist Mike Marino fashioned a “penguin penis” for him to wear.
“Marino is so twisted and brilliant. He was like, ‘I made you a penguin penis,'” Farrell said. “I said, ‘Really? They’re not even going to see it. I don’t know if I want to walk on set with a penguin penis.’ And he was like, ‘No, no, no, dude. It’s detachable, it’s Velcro. It’s got a beak at the end of it.’ So I had a penguin penis.”
What do we know about The Penguin?
