Agatha All Along Reviews Lead to Strong Rotten Tomatoes & Metacritic Scores

Following early excitement, Agatha All Along has premiered with mixed but promising reviews, earning solid scores on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. The new Marvel series, a spinoff of WandaVision, features Kathryn Hahn in the role of Agatha Harkness. This dark comedy mystery series is gaining attention for its unique tone and charismatic performances, particularly Hahn’s portrayal of the cunning witch.

Agatha All Along reviews are largely positive

Critics are praising Agatha All Along for its creative blend of dark comedy, horror, and magic.

Kathryn Hahn’s portrayal of Agatha Harkness stands out, with Angie Han of The Hollywood Reporter calling her “a sardonic delight.” Luke Y. Thompson from SuperHeroHype highlighted the show’s LGBT subtext and its unique twist on The Wizard of Oz, giving it a 3.5/5 and praising its mix of horror and surrealism, despite noting some tonal inconsistencies.

Taylor Gates of Collider called the show “silly, scary, and sexy,” emphasizing Hahn’s magnetic performance and her “electric” chemistry with Aubrey Plaza. Despite some pacing issues, Gates sees the show as a compelling follow-up to WandaVision.

Jonathan Sim of ComingSoon described the first four episodes as “a woefully weak start,” citing a lack of humor and stakes.

However, on the whole, it seems Agatha All Along has managed to intrigue with its blend of dark comedy, horror, and LGBTQ+ representation. This positions it as an unconventional entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Agatha All Along’s Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores match audience’s response

Agatha All Along has launched with solid ratings on both Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.

At the time of writing, the series holds a 65% score on Rotten Tomatoes, praised for its standout performances, especially from Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza. On Metacritic, the show has a score of 69, indicating generally favorable reviews.

Diego Peralta of Geeks of Color highlighted the charismatic performances and captivating visual choices, giving the series an 8/10 on Rotten Tomatoes. Episodic Medium’s Caroline Siede appreciated its departure from the superhero genre, noting its roots in witch-themed classics like The Wizard of Oz.

Following its premiere on September 18, Agatha All Along builds on storylines from WandaVision with a focus on Agatha Harkness’ quest for power. It holds a strong 79% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, reflecting positive viewer reception.

As more reviews come in, these scores may change, but early reactions suggest Agatha All Along is set to be another notable addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
