The Xenomorph in Alien: Earth will be chilling.
Alien: Earth is an upcoming FX series that is based on the Alien franchise. Serving as a prequel to the 1979 Alien movie directed by Ridley Scott, the series, which is created by Noah Hawley, is expected to premiere in 2025.
Speaking to Deadline, Hawley teased a “truly chilling” Xenomorph that will be featured in the series.
What did Noah Hawley say about Alien: Earth’s Xenomorph?
“There’s something about seeing a Xenomorph in the wilds of Earth with your own eyes,” he said. “That is truly chilling to think of it moving here among us, and so I can’t tell you under what circumstances you’ll see that, but you’ll see it — and you’re going to lock your door that night.
“What was really fun for me was to really engage with the creature, bring some of my own thoughts to the design while not touching the silhouette, because that’s sacrosanct. But some of the elements as we know, whatever the host is, informs what the final creature is. I just wanted to play around a little bit to make it as scary as it should be.”
While the majority of the Alien franchise is set in space, Xenomorphs have been seen on Earth in cinema before in the two Alien vs. Predator movies: 2004’s Alien vs. Predator and 2007’s Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.
“When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s highly anticipated TV series Alien: Earth from creator Noah Hawley,” the synopsis for the series reads. “FX’s Alien: Earth original series coming in 2025, only on Hulu.”
Alien: Earth will premiere in 2025. The latest Alien movie, Alien: Romulus, is meanwhile currently playing in United States theaters.
