Conan O’Brien was hoping to check into The White Lotus for Season 3.
On a recent episode of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, O’Brien spoke to Walton Goggins, one of the stars of The White Lotus Season 3. During their conversation, O’Brien shared how he pitched himself a role to White Lotus creator Mike White while running into him in Bangkok, Thailand.
Why Did Conan O’Brien Want to Join The White Lotus Season 3?
“Before you guys started shooting The White Lotus, I ran into none other than Mike White in a restaurant,” O’Brien explained to Goggins. “We start chatting because we’ve met each other once or twice before, and he’s a very funny, cool guy. I said, ‘Hey, so the next season of The White Lotus, you’re going down to Thailand, right?’ And he said, ‘Yeah.’ And I said, ‘I was there. I had a great time. I made a lot of friends.’”
O’Brien added, “I said, ‘If there’s a part for me, I’m available.’”
After hearing O’Brien’s impromptu pitch, White hinted that Thailand has a lot of sex work. O’Brien was up for the task.
“I could do that,” O’Brien said to White. “I could play a part where I’m a male gigolo or something.”
After the room exploded with laughter, O’Brien asked Goggins if he could play a male sex worker and live the lifestyle of a gigolo.
Goggins said, “Well, I think you could do both. I think you could play that part, and you could be that person in real life.”
Earlier this month, The White Lotus Season 3 wrapped production. Created by White, Season 3 stars Goggins, Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Lalisa Manobal, Sam Nivola, Sarah Catherine Hook, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Christian Friedel, Sarah Catherine Hook, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Tayme Thapthimthong, Julian Kostov, Scott Glenn, and Natasha Rothwell.
The White Lotus Season 3 arrives on HBO in 2025.
