Jared Padalecki Joins Fire Country Season 3 Cast, Could Lead Spin-off

Supernatural alum Jared Padalecki has joined the cast of Fire Country Season 3, the ratings-hit drama on CBS, with the potential to lead the upcoming spin-off Sheriff Country opposite Deadpool’s Morena Baccarin.

What to know about Jared Padalecki’s Fire Country Season 3 role?

In his first role since The CW’s cancellation of the Walker series earlier this year, Padalecki will play Camden. The character is a firefighter who’s described as a maverick with a certain swagger. He is a force to be reckoned with who immediately recognizes the raw talent of lead character Bode (played by Max Thieriot). It is reported that Padalecki will appear in a three-episode arc, though it could potentially grow.

According to Deadline, Padalecki will only join Fire Country Season 3 in a recurring role. However, considering the fact that the actor is a popular TV star, going back to his days on Gilmore Girls and his long run as Sam Winchester on Supernatural, there is a chance that Padalecki could continue into the upcoming Sheriff Country spin-off headlined by Baccarin. However, these talks and possibilities are still in their early stages. Sheriff Country is planned to debut in the 2025-26 broadcast season on CBS.

It’s also been confirmed that Padalecki will follow in the footsteps of other Supernatural alums, reuniting with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke when he appears during The Boys Season 5. However, it’s not clear who Padalecki would portray.

Fire Country stars Max Thieriot, with the Bates Motel and SEAL Team actor starring as Bode Donovan. A young convict looking for redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California, Bode and other inmates are “partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region,” per the official synopsis. The cast also includes Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway, and Jules Latimer.

Fire Country Season 3 is set to debut on October 18 on CBS. It is created by Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, and Thieriot. All three serve as executive producers, along with Tia Napolitano, who also serves as showrunner, and Jerry Bruckheimer and Kristie Anne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television. The series is produced by CBS Studios
