Vincent D’Onofrio Teases Violence in Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again may be streaming on Disney+, but star Vincent D’Onofrio says that he believes the show goes even further than its Netflix predecessor in terms of violence.

Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes, D’Onofrio was asked if Born Again will be as violent as the original show. D’Onofrio said that there are some things that go “much further” than on the Netflix show, and specifically mentioned a scene involving him that he’s surprised made it.

“There are some things in this show, that we go much further with than on the original show,” said D’Onofrio. “There’s one thing in particular, that my character does, that I can’t believe made it into the cut.”

Daredevil: Born Again hails from showrunner Dario Scardapane and directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. The upcoming MCU revival will also feature return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/ Punisher, and Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/ Bullseye. Joining them are franchise newcomers Sandrine Holt, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gaston, Nikki M. James, Arty Froushan, and Genneya Walton.

Both Cox and D’Onofrio already made their Marvel Cinematic Universe debuts in 2021, with Kingpin guest-starring in the Hawkeye series and Matt Murdock/Daredevil briefly appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home. In 2022, Cox also had a two-episode appearance on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he showed off a lighter side of the hero. Most recently, Cox and D’Onofrio starred in the Alaqua Cox-led miniseries Echo.
