FX has officially granted a series order to executive producer Nick Kroll‘s upcoming 20-something ensemble comedy Snowflakes. This comes after over three months since the project received a pilot order from the network.
“Described as a twenty-something ensemble comedy, Snowflakes follows a group of codependent housemates — Billie, Samir, Anton, Issa and Paul Baker — trying to be good people, despite being neither ‘good’ nor ‘people’ yet,” reads the initial logline.
Who is in the Snowflakes cast?
Snowflakes will be led by a group of up-and-coming actors Lucy Freyer, Malik Elassal, Owen Thiele, Amita Rao and Jack Innanen, who will be playing the respective roles of Billie, Samir, Anton, Issa, and Paul. The series is written and executive produced by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, who were former writers for The Tonight Show. Before entering Hollywood, the duo had first gone viral in 2018, with their hilarious Yale graduation speech together which currently has 7.6 million views on YouTube.
“We are excited about the exceptional cast and powerhouse comedy team we’ve assembled for Snowflakes,” FX boss Nick Grad said in a statement (via Deadline). “Not only does it give us a chance to introduce our audience to Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw’s brilliant comedic voice, but we also get the opportunity to work again with Nick, Jonathan and Stefani, all incredibly talented veterans of signature FX comedies.”
“We’re so grateful to be telling this story about a group of friends navigating the hardest, horniest time of life together,” Kronengold and Shaw said. “FX comedies have defined our generation, and we can’t wait to show them the consequences.”
The pilot was directed by Jonathan Krisel, with Kroll and Alicia Van Couvering executive producing as part of their production company Good at Business banner’s first-look deal with FX Productions. It will also be executive produced by Krisel and Karey Dornetto.
