Spider-Noir: Lamorne Morris Talks ‘Bucket List’ Role

Lamorne Morris will star in the upcoming Spider-Noir series, a project that was a bucket list sort of role for the actor to appear in.

Speaking to Deadline, Morris sounded excited about his upcoming role and getting the chance to work with an actor like Nicolas Cage, which he described as something that he’d always wanted to do, calling it something on his “bucket list…to play a character in a world that is not necessarily real, opposite actors who are veteran OGs that can teach you a thing or two, that you could be on set learning while performing.”

“When you grow up on comics and even animation, you want to be a part of that world, and this combines those worlds,” said Morris. “It’s the comic, it’s live-action, it’s Nick Cage, Brendan Gleeson. So, being a part of that group is a bucket list thing for sure.”

Alongside Morris, Spider-Noir will also star Nicolas Cage in the role of Spider-Man, a role he will be reprising from his performances in the animated “Spider-Verse” movies. Brendan Gleeson and Li Jun Li will also star in the upcoming series.

Who is in Spider-Noir?

Spider-Noir does not yet have a premiere date; however, the series will first debut on MGM+ before it then hits Amazon Prime Video. Nicolas Cage also recently revealed that the series would consist of eight episodes.

Spider-Noir “tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero,” according to Deadline.

Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serve as co-showrunners on Spider-Noir. Harry Bradbeer is directing and executive producing the first two episodes of the eight-episode series, while Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal also serve as executive producers.
