With its new revelations, The Acolyte has sparked Anakin Skywalker vs. Osha and Mae comparisons across social media. The twins’ mysterious birth akin to Anakin has led people to ask whether they are more powerful than Obi-Wan’s former padawan. As a result, showrunner Leslye Headland has addressed the theories of who could be stronger.
The Acolyte’s Osha and Mae are much weaker than Anakin Skywalker
During The Acolyte’s Episode 7 flashbacks, the mysteries surrounding Osha and Mae’s birth were addressed. Having a high midi-chlorian count in their blood, they were revealed to be highly force-sensitive. Furthermore, their symbionts were exactly the same, teasing the fact that they were artificially created by using the vergence in the force to split one consciousness into two bodies. They aren’t technically twins, but one person divided into two.

With that in mind, Headland has revealed despite their artificial creation, the sisters are no match against the strength that Anakin Skywalker possessed. “The Chosen One” was rated as one of the most powerful Force-users in the galaxy, if not the strongest. So, Osha and Mae likely won’t last seconds in a battle against him.
In an interview with Nerdist, Headland was quick to take down theories of Osha and Mae being even remotely closer to Anakin in terms of strength. She said that they are more like the first batch of an experiment. Talking about their artificial birth, she stated:
“It’s like when you’re doing an experiment and it’s the first round of it. They are maybe not the first, but one of the first experiments of this particular use of power. So the twins are weaker than Anakin, for sure. They are going to fall short of what will eventually become the Chosen One. They will never achieve what that is, because, in my mind, Aniseya could only do so much. She’s not powerful enough to create one person.”
Similar to their artificial creation was Anakin’s birth, who was born to Shmi Skywalker without a father as well. But, Anakin is much stronger as he wasn’t split into two separate people.
Leslye Headland continued to explain:
“The twins split, Aniseya’s power split, and therefore a lot of her philosophy is about the power of two. About the fact that they must stay together…The twins are stronger together if she keeps them together.”
The showrunner also teased that further questions about Osha and Mae’s birth will be answered in the upcoming finale of The Acolyte on July 16.
