FX has officially announced the American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez release date for its forthcoming crime drama series. It will serve as the newest addition to Ryan Murphy‘s long-running anthology franchise consisting of American Horror Story and American Crime Story.

When is the American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez release date?

American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez is scheduled to make its debut on Tuesday, September 17, on FX with the first two episodes. The limited series is expected to focus on the prominent sports figure and re-examine his life and career through the prism of today’s world, telling that story from multiple perspectives.

American Sports Story is written and executive produced by The Americans’ Stu Zicherman. The first season will be led by Josh Andrés Rivera as Aaron Hernandez, Patrick Schwarzenegger as Tim Tebow, Lindsay Mendez as Tanya Singleton, Tony Yazbeck as Urban Meyer, Jake Cannavale as Chris, Tammy Blanchard as Terri Hernandez, Norbert Leo Butz as Bill Belichick and more. It is executive produced by Murphy, Jacobson, Simpson, Woodall, and Falchuk, along with Hernan Lopez, Marshall Lewy, Linda Pizzuti Henry, and Ira Napoliello.
