Poker Face Season 2 has begun filming.
To commemorate the occasion, writer and director Tony Tost shared a picture of a Poker Face clapperboard on social media with the caption, “First day of filming season two of Poker Face. Still counting my blessings that I’m getting to step in and help make a new season of one of my favorite shows.”
Poker Face’s Natasha Lyonne is listed as the director on the clapperboard, meaning she will helm an episode in Season 2. Series creator Rian Johnson shared Tost’s post on his Instagram story, writing, “Day one season two.”
What to Expect in Poker Face Season 2?
“Poker Face is a 10-episode mystery-of-the-week series following Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying,” Peacock’s synopsis reads. “She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.”
Lyonne headlines Poker Face as Charlie, the cocktail waitress who travels the country to solve crimes. The series is considered a “howcatchem,” with Charlie working on a new case in each episode, similar to crime shows like Columbo.
Poker Face’s impressive list of guest stars in the first season included Adrien Brody, Benjamin Bratt, Charles Melton, Danielle Macdonald, Ellen Barkin, Hong Chau, Jameela Jamil, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Judith Light, Lil Rel Howery, Luis Guzmán, Nick Nolte, Rhea Perlman, Ron Perlman, Simon Helberg, Stephanie Hsu, Tim Blake Nelson, and Tim Meadows.
Poker Face was created and executive produced by Johnson, who directed and wrote multiple episodes in Season 1. Additional executive producers include Lyonne, Ram Bergman, Nora Zuckerman, Lilla Zuckerman, Nena Rodrigue, and Iain B. Macdonald.
Poker Face Season 1 premiered in January 2023 on Peacock. Lyonne received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Season 2 does not have a premiere date.
