Maya Hawke has given an update on Stranger Things Season 5.
Following significant delays caused by the 2023 Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike, the fifth and final season of Stranger Things began filming in January 2024.
According to Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley in the popular Netflix series, production is expected to last around a year given the length of the episodes.
Hawke told Podcrushed (via Deadline), “Our showrunners, Matt and Ross, take a lot of responsibility. They have an amazing team of writers, but they’re very involved. They write a lot and they are very intense and serious about the quality of the continued writing, and it takes a long time to write each season, and it takes a long time to shoot them.”
She added, “We’re making, basically, eight movies. The episodes are very long.”
