Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 Open Casting Search for Toph Is Now Underway

Netflix has officially launched an open casting search for the fan-favorite role of Toph Beifong in the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2. In the original animated series, Toph was voiced by Jessie Flower (The Emperor’s New School).

The streamer is looking for young Asian female actors to portray the live-action version of Toph, who is being described a blind girl in her mid-late teens. Actors who have dance and/or martial experiences are a plus. Netflix is also encouraging actors who are blind or have low vision to submit their resumes. According to the casting list, production on Avatar: The Last Airbender is expected to begin in the Fall of 2024.

What to expect from Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2?

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 will be based on on the original animated series’ second installment titled Chapter 2 – Earth, which will see Aang, Katar, and Sokka searching for the right Earthbending master for Aang. It will feature new showrunners in the form of Christine Boylan (The Punisher) and Jabbar Raisani (Lost in Space). Besides Toph, more new characters are also expected to make their debuts in Season 2, including The Boulder and the Earth King. Just like the original, the live-action adaptation will be ending after its third season.

Based on Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender is led by Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko.They are joined by Daniel Dae Kim, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Lim Kay Siu, Ken Leung, Elizabeth Yu, Maria Zhang, C.S. Lee, Utkarsh Ambudkar, A Martinez, Yvonne Chapman, Tamlyn Tomita, and more.
