CBS has dropped the first official photos from the highly-anticipated Young Sheldon finale, which will feature a special appearance from The Big Bang Theory alums Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik.
The photos provide fans with a first look at the return of Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper and Bialik’s Amy Fowler. They were last seen by fans during the original sitcom’s series finale in 2019, where the married couple became Nobel Prize winners together. The hour-long Young Sheldon finale debuts on Thursday, May 16.
Young Sheldon Gets Its First Spin-off
Following the series finale of Young Sheldon, it will then be followed by another spin-off titled Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. It will follow Montana Jordan and Emily Osment’s titular characters as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting, and marriage. The comedy is expected to be released this coming fall as part of CBS’ 2024-2025 broadcast season.
“It has been a privilege to spend the last seven years with Sheldon and the Cooper family and now this wonderful journey will continue with Georgie and Mandy,” CBS executive Amy Reisenbach said in a statement. “Chuck and both Steves have done a masterful job developing these characters and entertaining generations of fans with relatable, heartwarming stories brought to life by Montana and Emily. We eagerly look forward to the next chapter in this beloved universe.”
Created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, Young Sheldon currently stars Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Annie Potts, Emily Osment, Raegan Revord, and Matt Hobby. The sitcom is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
