Black Rabbit: Jason Bateman-Led Netflix Series Adds 11 to Cast

The cast to Netflix‘s upcoming limited series Black Rabbit has grown, with Deadline reporting that 11 new cast members have joined the Jason Bateman-led project.

Joining Bateman and Jude Law in the upcoming series will be Academy Award-winning actor Troy Kotsur (CODA), Abbey Lee (Old), Odessa Young (Mothering Sunday), Robin De Jesus (Tick Tick…BOOM), Amir Malaklou (The Old Man), Don Harvey (We Own This City), Forrest Weber (Law & Order), Francis Benhamou (Dear Edward), Gus Birney (Shining Vale), John Ales (American Fiction), and Steve Witting (Killers of the Flower Moon).

Alongside the previously mentioned group, the series will also star Cleopatra Coleman (Rebel Moon), Amaka Okafor (Bodies), Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Gangs of London), and Dagmara Dominczyk (Succession). The project has been in development since October 2022.

What is Black Rabbit about?

“When the owner of a New York City hotspot (Law) allows his turbulent brother (Bateman) back in his life, he opens the door to escalating dangers that threaten to bring down everything he’s built,” reads the logline.

According to Deadline, Kotsur will play Joe Mancuso, a local bookie with ties to crime. Lee will play Anna, a bartender in NYC. Young will play East Village tattoo artist Gen, while De Jesus will play NY chef Tony.

Malaklou will play Naveen, an investor in Jake’s (Bateman) business. Harvey plays Matt, another bartender in Brooklyn. Weber will play the hotheaded criminal Junior. Benhamou plays New York Magazine journalist Lisa Klein. Birney plays Mel Whitney, an aspiring actress. Ales will play Jules Zablonski, a famous NYC artist, and Witting will play Andy, a credit card processor and money lender.

Black Rabbit is created and written by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman, with Bateman also set to direct the first two episodes and executive produce the series. It is produced by Michael Costigan, Ben Jackson, Kate Susman, and Zach Baylin. It is a production by Aggregate Films, Riff Raff Entertainment, Youngblood Pictures, and Automatik Entertainment.
