According to Deadline, Tony and Emmy nominee Phillipa Soo, who gained recognition for her acclaimed performance in the Broadway musical Hamilton, has been tapped to join the Dr. Odyssey cast for Ryan Murphy’s upcoming medical procedural series.
A the moment, further details about Soo’s character are still under wraps. She will be joining previously announced cast members Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson. This marks Soo’s first major TV project in nearly two years following appearances in 2021’s Dopesick and 2022’s Shining Girls.

Dr. Odyssey is written and executive produced by Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, with Paris Barclay attached to direct. The series will reportedly take place on a cruise ship. In addition to starring, Jackson is also executive producing alongside Barclay, Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson and Nissa Diederich. It is a production by 20th Television.
Jackson is no stranger to the medical genre as he previously portrayed a doctor in 2021’s crime thriller Dr. Death. His most recent TV project was Paramount+’s series adaptation of the 1987 movie Fatal Attraction. He will next be seen in Sony Pictures’ newest Karate Kid movie with Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan.
