According to Deadline, Apple TV+ has officially tapped Insidious: The Red Door star Peter Dager for the leading role opposite Oscar nominee Owen Wilson in the untitled golf comedy series.
Dager will be playing the role of a teenage golf prodigy. This marks the young actor’s first major TV project as the lead following appearances in WITS Academy and Demente Criminal.
What to expect in the untitled Owen Wilson comedy?
“The 10-episode comedy follows Pryce Cahill (Wilson), an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom.”
The untitled series is written and created by Jason Keller, who’s also executive producing alongside Wilson, Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Guymon Casady, Lee Eisenberg, Natalie Sandy, Chris Moynihan and Bill Callahan. The project will be directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine, Battle of the Sexes). It is a production by Apple Studios.
