What is The Night Agent about?
Based on Matthew Quirk‘s novel, The Night Agent follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland as he is stationed in the White House basement to respond to an emergency “Night Action” line that rarely receives phone calls. However, one call put Peter in danger.
Following The Night Agent’s successful debut on Netflix in 2023, the streaming service immediately renewed the show, with the second season — which is currently in production — taking place in Thailand and Washington, DC.
“The series is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low-level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office,” the synopsis reads.
Created by Shawn Ryan, The Night Agent is executive produced by David Beaubaire, James Vanderbilt, Paul Bernard, Seth Gordon, Julia Gunn, Marney Hochman, Paul Neinstein, William Sherak, Nicole Tossou, and Munis Rashid. Ryan also serves as one of the show’s executive producers.
No exact release date has been set yet for The Night Agent Season 2.
