Sydney Sweeney is hinting that the third season of HBO’s Euphoria may begin filming soon.
Speaking with MTV’s Josh Horowitz, Sweeney was asked if she’s planning to take a little time off following the South by Southwest (SXSW) premiere of her new horror movie, Immaculate.
“I go into Euphoria,” Sweeney answered.
Sweeney didn’t give a direct answer regarding whether or not she’d read any scripts for Euphoria Season 3. She did, however, say, “I always feel like I go home. It’s like home when I go back to it.”

Who else stars in Euphoria alongside Sydney Sweeney?
Created by Sam Levinson, the first two seasons of Euphoria starred Zendaya as Rue Bennett, Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn, Sweeney as Cassie Howard, Jacob Elordi as Nate Jacobs, Maude Apatow as Lexi Howard, Angus Cloud as Fez, Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez, Barbie Ferreira as Kat Hernandez, and Storm Reid as Gia Bennett.
The first season of Euphoria premiered in June 2019. Following two one-hour specials that were released in December 2020 and January 2021, Euphoria Season 2 then came in January 2022.
Euphoria was renewed for a third season in February 2022, though production was delayed for a number of reasons.
HBO and Max content chairman Casey Bloys told TheWrap in January 2023 about Euphoria Season 3, “We’ll see how it goes. [Levinson is] writing Season 3 right now, he’s in the thick of it. So I don’t know that he is laying out what the future looks like. It’s just getting Season 3 done. I haven’t had a specific conversation with him about is this the end or what does it look like.”
The first two seasons of Euphoria are currently streaming on Max. A release date has not yet been set for Euphoria Season 3.
