The third season of Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown will see a familiar face, as Deadline has confirmed that Natasha Marc will be making her return as Cherry in the crime thriller series.
The actress made her last appearance as Cherry in the ninth episode of Season 1, titled “The Lie of Truth,” in which she killed a woman named Sam at the women’s prison. Her story, however, remains unknown to the viewers — including her past — which the third season is anticipated to explore further. That, of course, includes her connection to the Crips.
“The series follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither,” the official synopsis for Mayor of Kingstown reads.
The Season 3 description teases that the fictional company town and its citizens would be facing a new threat that would worsen the drug war — in and outside of the prison — which would put Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) under intense pressure to keep peace and order.
