Following its record-breaking series debut last February 11, CBS has officially granted Justin Hartley’s newest drama Tracker an early Season 2 renewal. This comes ahead of its Season 1 finale titled “Lexington,” which airs on March 24.
The first episode of Tracker has garnered 30 million multi-platform viewers during its premiere week, making the action drama its most watched entertainment series of the season, according to Nielsen’s most current data.
“Tracker kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter). “We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin, the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.”
What is Tracker about?
“The series follows Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family,” reads the logline.
Based on Jeffery Deaver’s The Never Game novel, Tracker is created and executive produced by Ben H. Winters, who’s also serving as a showrunner with Hilary Weisman Graham. The series also stars Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, Lee Tergesen, Wendy Crewson, Mathew Nelson-Mahood, Bradley Stryker, and Marley Shelton.
This marks Hartley’s first major TV project since the acclaimed NBC drama This Is Us ended its six-season run in 2022. In addition to starring, Hartley is also executive producing alongside Ken Olin, Elwood Reid and Deaver.
