According to Deadline, Netflix has officially decided not to renew its Michelle Yeoh-led action dramedy The Brothers Sun for a second season. The cancellation comes after a month since the show made its debut with 8 episodes.
Lead star Justin Chien, who played Yeoh’s eldest son Charles, took to Instagram to address The Brothers Sun’s cancellation, revealing that it would “take some time [for him] to digest this news.” The series served as Chien’s first major TV project as the lead.
“Thank you for riding with us on this labor of love. It will take some time to digest this news, but I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and support for the show,” Chien wrote in his post. “Thank you for every post, tweet, edit, interaction, etc. It fills me with so much joy knowing that the show resonated with so many people. Your love made all of our collective work, sacrifices, and heartache, worth it.”
