Too Much Cast: Netflix’s Lena Dunham Comedy Adds Rita Wilson, Rhea Perlman & More

According to Variety, Netflix has enlisted fifteen actors to join the Too Much cast for Lena Dunham’s upcoming romantic comedy, which will be led by The White Lotus’ Will Sharpe and Hacks’ Megan Stalter.

The ensemble cast will officially include Rita Wilson, Rhea Perlman, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Fry, Michael Zegen, Andrew Rannells, Emily Ratajkowski, Janicza Bravo, Leo Reich, Adele Exarchopoulos, Adwoa Aboah, Daisy Bevan, Dean-Charles Chapman, Kaori Momoi, and Prasanna Puwanarajah. Further details about their characters are still under wraps.

What to expect in Too Much?

“Jessica (Stalter) is a New York workaholic in her mid-thirties, reeling from a broken relationship that she thought would last forever and slowly isolating everyone she knows. When every block in New York tells a story of her own bad behaviour, the only solution is to take a job in London, where she plans to live a life of solitude like a Bronte sister,” reads the official synopsis. “But when she meets Felix (Sharpe) – who is less Hugh Grant in Notting Hill and more Hugh Grant’s drunken roommate – she finds that their unusual connection is impossible to ignore, even as it creates more problems than it solves.”

“Now they have to ask themselves: do Americans and Brits actually speak the same language? From the creator of Girls and the producers of Love Actually, Too Much is an ex-pat rom-com for the disillusioned who wonder if true love is still possible, but sincerely hope that it is.”

Too Much is created and executive produced by Dunham and husband Luis Felber, with the Girls alum also set to write and direct the romantic comedy. It will be executive produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Michael P. Cohen, Surian Fletcher-Jones, and Bruce Eric Kaplan, with Camilla Bray producing. It hails from Universal International Studios, A Working Title Television and Good Thing Going Production.

Production is expected to begin sometime this year in the UK.
