The Handmaid’s Tale actor Yvonne Strahovski is set to star in a new series at Peacock; the horror thriller show Teacup, executive-produced by James Wan.

The project is set to be loosely based on the 1988 novel Stinger by Robert McCammon. It sees a group of people in rural Georgia who must unite to take on a mysterious threat that puts their lives in danger. Strahovski, also a producer for the series, is set to play a character named Maggie Chenoweth.
Teacup comes from Universal Studio Group’s UCP and Wan’s Atomic Monster banner. Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone) adapted the novel, and E.L. Katz (The Haunting of Bly Manor) is penciled in to direct the first episode.
McCulloch also executive produces with Wan and Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear and Rob Hackett, Katz, McCammon, Francisca X. Hu, and Kevin Tancharoen.
Strahovski has appeared in The Tomorrow War, 24: Live Another Day, and Chuck, but is best known for her role of Serena Joy Waterford in The Handmaid’s Tale, a role she’s earned two Emmy nominations for so far.
Filming on the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale is set to begin this Summer.
