The Harry Potter Max series release date window has been revealed by Warner Bros. Discovery President and CEO David Zaslav.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zaslav revealed the release date window on Warner Bros. Discovery’s fourth-quarter earnings call. The CEO said that the series is targeting a 2026 debut and that he met with Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling in London recently to discuss the process of “reigniting” the franchise.
“We’ve not been shy about our excitement around Harry Potter … The last film was made more than a dozen years ago,” Zaslav stated. “I was in London a few weeks ago with Casey [Bloys, HBO and Max chief] and Channing [Dungey, Warner Bros. Discovery TV chief] and we spent some real time with J.K. and her team. Both sides are thrilled to be reigniting this franchise. Our conversations were great, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. We can’t wait to share a decade of new stories with fans around the world on Max.”
The Harry Potter series is described as a “decade-long” project with each season expected to adapt one book in J.K. Rowling’s acclaimed book series, which consists of The Philosopher’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows.
