Netflix has officially released the trailer for its upcoming Japanese action series House of Ninjas, which is poised to tell the all-original tale about the last ninja family. Scheduled to hit the streamer on February 15, the trailer promises plenty of action and family drama coming audiences’ way soon.
The forthcoming show will explore an alternate present where ninjas are still active and hiding in modern-day Japan. House of Ninjas will tell the story of a dysfunctional ninja family that had “abandoned its identity in the wake of a past mission,” focusing on the last surviving and retired ninja clan. In the series, the Tawara family comes out of retirement after numerous occurrences threatened their country’s future.
The synopsis for House of Ninjas reads: “Ninjas existed throughout many pivotal times in Japanese history — but what if they were still secretly undertaking missions in modern society? Set in today’s Japan, this series tells the story of the Tawara family, the last ninja clan that abandoned its roots after a particular mission. Now, the family must face the biggest crisis Japan has seen yet — one that threatens to shake the nation to its core.”
