The premiere date for Interview with the Vampire Season 2 has been set along with an announcement of production beginning on Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches Season 2.
A press release from AMC Networks revealed that Interview with the Vampire Season 2 will debut on Sunday, May 12. The new season will feature Billions and Breaking Bad star David Costabile as a guest star, though his role has yet to be announced.
The second season of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches has also begun production in New Orleans. It will be made up of eight episodes and will feature Alyssa Jirrels as a series regular, Ted Levine as a recurring guest star, and Thora Birch as a guest star. As of now, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches Season 2 is set to release on AMC and AMC+ later this year.
Finally, the release reiterated that a third series in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe is still being actively developed. First announced last April, this one is about the Talamasca — a secret organization that appears in numerous Anne Rice novels.
What did AMC say about the news?
“The beloved world created by Anne Rice continues to be a vast and exciting source of story and character for us to explore, develop and bring to life on screen,” Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios at AMC Networks stated. “We look forward to sharing second seasons of both Interview and Mayfair, two visually stunning productions that feature exciting new elements from Rice’s novels, with an audience and fanbase that have embraced these series and unforgettable characters from the beginning. Beyond the existing shows, we’re actively developing a potential third series in this expanding franchise, with the incomparable John Lee Hancock crafting a story based on Rice’s captivating Talamasca society.”
