With Young Sheldon coming to an end soon, George Cooper actor Lance Barber shared a sweet and touching image from the set of the hit CBS sitcom, stating that he will be missing his “Cooper kids.”
Barber has been the patriarch of the beloved fictional family since The Big Bang Theory prequel debuted in 2017. And ahead of the Season 7 premiere, which will air on February 15, Barber shared a photo on Instagram with all of his television children — Sheldon (Iain Armitage), Missy (Raegan Revord), Georgie (Montana Jordan) — accompanying his post with the caption, “Gonna miss my Cooper kids.”

Young Sheldon follows child genius Sheldon Cooper (Armitage) as he skips four grades to start high school alongside his older brother, who is considered less intellectual.
The sitcom is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. In addition to Armitage, Revord, Jordan, and Barber, the show also stars Zoe Perry as Mary, Annie Potts as Meemaw, Matt Hobby as Pastor Jeff, and Emily Osment as Mandy.
Will there be a new Young Sheldon in the future?
While the CBS sitcom will soon premiere its final season, it is not the end for the franchise yet as CBS seeks to expand it further. It was announced earlier this year that a spin-off focusing on Georgie and his fiancée, Mandy, is in the works.
Details about the planned spin-off remain under wraps, though THR previously reported that Young Sheldon executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Holland, and Steve Molaro are set to develop the show with CBS.
Consisting of 14 episodes, Young Sheldon Season 7 will premiere on February 15, with an hour-long series finale airing on May 16.
