Netflix has dropped the first Squid Game Season 2 footage, finally providing a peek at the highly anticipated new season. It was shown off in a trailer previewing Netflix’s 2024 film and series lineup.
“Squid Game tells the story of a group of desperate contestants who risk their lives to become the final winner in a mysterious extreme survival game with a 45.6 billion won cash prize,” reads the series‘ synopsis.

Who made Squid Game?
Squid Game hails from writer-director Hwang Dong-Hyuk, who is best known for his works on South Korean films such as The Fortress, Miss Granny, and Silenced. The first season centered around a group of 456 cash-strapped players who accept a strange invitation to compete in children’s games at a remote island in hopes of winning 456 billion won. However, they soon find out that the prize comes with deadly high stakes.
It was led by acclaimed actors Lee Jung-Jae (Along with the Gods), Park Hae-Soo (Prison Playbook), Wi Ha-Joon (Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum), Oh Young-Soo (God of War), Anupam Tripathi (Strangers From Hell), Heo Sung-Tae (Beyond Evil), Kim Joo-Ryoung (Andante), and model Jung Ho-Yeon in her acting TV debut.
