HBO and Max content chairman Casey Bloys has shared an update on the current status of the highly-anticipated Euphoria Season 3.
Speaking with TheWrap, Bloys confirmed that series creator Sam Levinson is still currently writing the scripts for Euphoria Season 3. He also addressed the future of the Zendaya-led drama, revealing that he hasn’t really talked about it yet with Levinson.
“We’ll see how it goes. He’s writing Season 3 right now, he’s in the thick of it. So I don’t know that he is laying out what the future looks like. It’s just getting Season 3 done,” Bloys said. “I haven’t had a specific conversation with him about is this the end or what does it look like.”
When will Euphoria Season 3 debut?
In a previous press conference, Bloys revealed that they’re currently targeting a 2025 release date for Euphoria Season 3. Given its all-star cast’s blossoming movie careers, setting the filming schedule would definitely be one of the creative team’s challenges for the new season.
Last year, Hunter Schafer and Sydney Sweeney starred in their first major movie roles in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Anyone But You, respectively. Meanwhile, Jacob Elordi received recognition for his roles in Priscilla and Saltburn. 2024 will once again be a busy year for the Euphoria cast, with Sweeney and Zendaya respectively starring in high-profile projects Madame Web and Dune: Part Two. The Emmy-winning actress will also be seen in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming sports dramedy Challengers.
Based on an Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria is created and written by Levinson, who is also executive producing with Zendaya, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, and original creators Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin. The series follows a group of high school students as they struggle to move through the worlds of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship. It also Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Algee Smith, Austin Abrams, Colman Domingo, and more.
