Peacock Unveils Trailer for Vigil Season 2, Sets Release Date

Apart from the action-packed trailer — which teases the imminent return of VigilPeacock has also unveiled the release date for the police procedural show’s second season. Set to return on February 15, 2024, the newly released trailer sets the tone for what viewers can expect from Season 2.

The first season of Vigil, which premiered in 2021, debuted to critical acclaim. Season 2, moreover, promises another successful run for the Peacock series. Consisting of six episodes, the second season of Vigil will see Suranne Jones’s DCI Amy Silva and Rose Leslie’s DI Kirsten Longacre embark on a delicate and dangerous job inside a Scottish military facility, where they must conduct an intense internal investigation. 

The official synopsis for Vigil Season 2 reads: “Following multiple unexplained fatalities at a Scottish military facility, DCI Amy Silva and DI Kirsten Longacre are tasked with uncovering the cause. Entering the hostile and closed ranks of the air force, the pair must face the deadly warfare of tomorrow as they fight for their own future.”

Who else will star in Vigil Season 2?

Besides Jones and Leslie, Vigil Season 2 stars Gary Lewis (His Dark Materials), Dougray Scott (Batwoman), Romola Garai (Atonement), Amir El-Masry (The Crown), David Elliot (The Liberator), Oscar Salem (The Lady of Heaven), Chris Jenks (Sex Education), Jonathan Ajayi (Noughts + Crosses), Steven Elder (A Spy Among Friends), Khalid Laith Nicoel (A Hologram for the King), and Alastair Mackenzie (Andor). 

Created and written by Tom Edge, Vigil hails from World Productions, with Andy De Emmony and Joss Agnew serving as series directors. Edge, Jake Lushington, and Simon Heath executive produce the show, while Maryam Hamidi, James Smythe, Ryan O’Sullivan, and Matilda Wnek serve as the show’s writers.
