Netflix has officially wrapped production for the upcoming third season of its hit coming-of-age series Heartstopper.
Bringing audiences closer to the continuation of Nick Nelson’s (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring’s (Joe Locke) romantic story, Season 3 started filming back on October 3. Nothing much has been revealed yet about what the third season will explore, but it is expected to go into what transpired after Truham Grammar High School’s trip to Europe.
Based on Alice Oseman‘s graphic novel of the same name, the logline for Heartstopper reads: “Teens Charlie and Nick discover their unlikely friendship might be something more as they navigate school and young love in this coming-of-age series.”
Besides lead characters Connor and Locke, Doctor Who’s Yasmin Finney will also reprise her Elle Argent role alongside William Gao as Tao Xu, Rhea Norwood as Imogen Heaney, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy Olssen, Corinna Brown as Tara Jones, and Tobie Donovan as Isaac Henderson.
Unfortunately, Sebastian Croft’s Ben Hope won’t be returning for Season 3 as it has been established during the second season that his character has moved away.
Darragh Hand will join Season 3 as Michael Holden, a friend of Charlie’s sister, Tori (Jenny Walser).
Season 3 is expected to adapt the novel’s fourth volume, which sees both Charlie and Nick going to college. No release date has been set yet for Heartstopper Season 3, but ComingSoon will update as soon as new information becomes available. In the interim, you can revisit the first two seasons of the hit teen series which are all available to stream on Netflix.
