The Tourist, the crime thriller starring Jamie Dornan, has been saved by Netflix after losing its streaming home on Max.
The Tourist Season 1 will be available on Netflix as of February 1, 2024. That will be followed by the United States premiere of The Tourist Season 2 on February 29, 2024. The series left Max (formerly known as HBO Max)in September, per TVLine, and it was unclear at the time whether the BBC-produced drama would find another platform in the U.S.
In the six episodes of its debut season, The Tourist focused on Dornan’s character, referred to as The Man, after he suffered a horrific car accident that left him with memory loss and no idea of who he is. But as he begins to recover his memories, The Man has to stare down some dark truths.
What to know about The Tourist
“When a man (Jamie Dornan) wakes up in the Australian outback with no memory, he must use a few clues to discover his identity before his past catches up with him,” reads the season 1 synopsis.
Along with Dornan, the cast includes Danielle Macdonald, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Genevieve Lemon, Alex Dimitriades, and Damon Herriman.
The Tourist is created and written by Harry and Jack Williams. In terms of what to expect from season 2, according to the synopsis, “Elliot (Jamie Dornan) and Helen (Danielle Macdonald) travel to Ireland to find answers about Elliot’s identity, but instead, they are forced to face the dangerous consequences of his past actions.”
