Netflix has revealed a bit more about the previously announced Unstable Season 2, including that Lamorne Morris and Iris Apatow have been added to the show’s cast.
According to Netflix, Morris (New Girl) will play recurring guest star Peter, the charasmatic founder of a biotech start-up. Peter’s rise to fame is something that will “stoke the already intense rivalry between Ellis (Rob Lowe) and Jackson (John Owen Lowe).”
As for Apatow, she will play recurring guest star Georgia, Anna’s (Sian Clifford) “irreverent ex-stepdaughter turned unwilling Dragon intern. She copes with office life by stirring up trouble and making Anna’s life more difficult whenever possible.”
Netflix also confirmed that Fred Armisen will be reprising his role as Leslie, Ellis’ board-appointed therapist, in the second season of the series.
Morris is best known for his role as Winston Bishop in the hit Fox sitcom New Girl. Recently, Morris also stars in the fifth season of FX’s Fargo. Apatow is the daughter of filmmaker Judd Apatow and has most recently starred in 2022’s The Bubble, a film she directed, co-wrote, and produced alongside her father.
What is Unstable about?
“Ellis Dragon is a universally admired, eccentric, narcissist-adjacent biotech entrepreneur working to make the world a better place,” reads the synopsis. “He’s also in emotional free-fall. His son Jackson Dragon is… none of those things. Can Jackson save Ellis and his company and salvage their estranged relationship while also doing what may actually be impossible: escaping the shadow of his larger-than-life father?”
Unstable is created and executive produced by Rob Lowe, John Owen Lowe, and Victor Fresco, with Marc Buckland also set as an executive producer. The eight episode series will also feature Sian Clifford as Anna, Rachel Marsh as Luna, Emma Ferreira as Ruby, Aaron Branch as Malcolm, and Fred Armisen as Leslie.
Rob Lowe is a former teen actor best best known for his performances in classic 1980s films including The Outsiders, Oxford Blues, St. Elmo’s Fire, and About Last Night. He also gained recognition for his acclaimed performance in the political drama The West Wing, which earned him a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for Best Actor. He is also currently starring in the procedural drama 9-1-1: Lone Star.
