Young Sheldon Gets Netflix Streaming Date

The hit CBS comedy sitcom Young Sheldon will start streaming on Netflix on November 24 before the release of its farewell season.

Per Deadline’s report, Netflix has begun running promos for the Iain Armitage-led coming-of-age series, which will soon hit the streamer. They also report that the series, which is currently streaming on Max, moving to Netflix is part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s shift in focus from exclusivity to licensing content deals. That means both subscribers to Max and Netflix can catch up with Young Sheldon’s previous seasons.

A spin-off to The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon — created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro — first premiered on CBS in 2017 and has spawned a total of six seasons, with the seventh season on the way. Though the series has proven to be a CBS hit since its release, Season 7 will also serve as the show’s last.

Young Sheldon follows child genius Sheldon Cooper (Armitage), a character portrayed by Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory, as he skips four grades to start high school along with his older brother, who’s deemed less intellectual.

When will Season 7 come out?

Consisting of 14 episodes, the upcoming final season will premiere on February 15, 2024. The one-hour series finale will air on May 16 at 8 p.m. EST.

In a statement, CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said, “As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, Young Sheldon proved lightning can strike twice. It set itself apart with a remarkable cast that felt like a family from the first moment we saw them on screen and brought characters to life with unique heartfelt stories that drew audiences in from the start.”

She added, “We extend a sincere thank you to executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, and Steve Holland and the entire writing and producing teams for six wonderful seasons. We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and giving it a proper send-off with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy.”

The series also stars Zoe Perry, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, Lance Barber, and Annie Potts.
