The Fab Five is now down to four. Queer Eye’s resident design expert, Bobby Berk, will be exiting the hit Netflix reality show after its upcoming eighth season.
The interior designer — alongside Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Tan France, and Karamo Brown — has hosted Bravo‘s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy reboot since its premiere in 2018. The five hosts, known as the Fab Five, serve in their respective designations, with Porowski responsible for food and wine, Van Ness for grooming, France for fashion, and Brown for culture and lifestyle. Each episode, the Fab Five help certain “heroes” improve their current life situation.
Now, Berk — in charge of interior design — has announced his exit from the award-winning reality series after the release of Season 8, which will premiere on January 24, 2024.
“It’s not been an easy decision”
On Instagram, Berk wrote a heartfelt message for fans and heroes and spoke about the “surreal” experience he had over the last six years.
“Throughout these years, you, the die-hard fans of Queer Eye, have all shared so many stories with me about how the show has touched your lives and I could not be more grateful to each and every one of you for being brave enough to share your experiences,” said Berk.
He added, “It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that season 8 will be my final season on Queer Eye. It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one. Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon.”
The television host then concluded his post with a “foreverthefab5” hashtag.
The eighth season of the Emmy-award-winning reality show will take place in New Orleans. Netflix has also renewed the show for Season 9, which will be filmed in Las Vegas.
All seven seasons of Queer Eye are available to stream on Netflix.
