FX has officially announced the renewal of its acclaimed kitchen dramedy, The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri. This comes after over four months since the popular series debuted its 10-episode second season on Hulu. Despite the ongoing actors’ strike, the network is still hoping to release The Bear Season 3 sometime in 2024.
“The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon,” President of FX Entertainment, Nick Grad said in a statement (via Deadline). “We’re so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of The Bear.”
Who’s involved in The Bear?
The Bear is executive produced by Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, Nate Matteson, and Josh Senior. The comedy drama stars White, Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Edwin Lee Gibson, and Matty Matheson. Season 2 also introduced new characters portrayed by an all-star guest lineup including Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Paulson, Will Poulter, Olivia Colman, John Mulaney, Molly Gordon, and Bob Odenkirk.
“Season two follows Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto, Sydney Adamu and Richard ‘Richie’ Jerimovich as they work to transform their grimy sandwich joint into a next-level spot,” reads the logline. “As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future.”
