Joe Pickett will not return for a third season on Paramount+.
According to Variety, Paramount+ has pulled the plug on Joe Pickett after two seasons. Produced by Paramount Television Studios, the Michael Dorman-led neo-Western crime drama initially premiered as a Spectrum original series in 2021. Spectrum announced a second season, which moved to Paramount+ when the Spectrum Originals program shut down. Joe Pickett Season 2 premiered on the Paramount Global-owned streaming service earlier this year.
What is Joe Pickett about?
Based on characters created by novelist C.J. Box, Joe Pickett stars Dorman as the eponymous character — a game warden living in Wyoming. Pickett investigates crimes in and around the small town of Saddlestring.
In addition to Dorman, the series’ main cast includes Julianna Guill, Sharon Lawrence, Paul Sparks, Mustafa Speaks, Skywalker Hughes, Kamryn Pilva, David Alan Grier, Chad Rook, Aadila Dosani, Keean Johnson, and Vivienne Guynn. The brotherly duo of John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle collectively directed eight of the show’s 20 episodes (and wrote six of them). Additional directors included Everardo Gout, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Woolfenden, Blackhorse Lowe, Janice Cooke, and Shana Stein.
Both seasons of Joe Pickett are currently streaming on Paramount+.
