At New York Comic Con today, it was revealed that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 will feature the return of The Walking Dead alum Melissa McBride.
Deadline has reported that Norman Reedus appeared on stage at Comic Con to reveal the news that McBride’s character, Carol Peletier, would be reuniting with Daryl Dixon in Season 2 of the new The Walking Dead spin-off. This was followed by McBride herself appearing via video and stating that she was glad to be back. It was also revealed that Season 2 will be titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.
McBride was originally set to appear earlier in the show but exited the spin-off to take a break from working on the franchise after over a decade of doing so. Set photos from earlier this year also included McBride, making the news a bit less of a surprise.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon revolves around Norman Reedus‘ beloved Walking Dead character as he finds himself far away from home. Joining Reedus in the series are Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, newcomer Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, and more.
Based on the comic series of the same name, the horror-drama is executive produced by showrunner David Zabel. Producers are Reedus, Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, and Daniel Percival.
