The Fisher family found a new streaming home to retell their intense and heartfelt story. In news that will surely delight longtime fans of Six Feet Under, all five seasons of HBO’s popular drama series will head to Netflix on November 1 in select regions.
As the streaming landscape continues to evolve, HBO has already licensed its other programs to stream on other platforms — despite the existence of MAX — in order to generate additional revenue, with Ballers, Insecure, Band of Brothers, and The Pacific among the first few HBO shows to make their Netflix debut. Now, another HBO show will receive a new legion of fans when Six Feet Under starts streaming on the platform.
Six Feet Under Is an Emotionally Charged, Intense, and Subsequently Moving Tale
The dark comedy, created by Alan Ball, aired from 2001 to 2005 across five seasons. It follows the dysfunctional Fisher family and their struggle with their own personal lives, all while maintaining a family business called Fisher & Sons Funeral Home.
The program had a successful run on television and received praise for its emotional and humorous exploration of grief and loss while focusing on the family that owns a funeral home and how they cope with seeing dead bodies in their basement on a daily basis.
