Entertainment Weekly has released sneak-peak photos of Griselda, the upcoming limited series starring Sofia Vergara as Griselda Blanco. The crime drama is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in January 2024.
The photos feature Vergara as Blanco, a Colombian woman who became one of the most notorious figures in the drug trade during the 1970s and 1980s in Miami, Florida. The series will follow Blanco’s life, from being a young mother to transforming into a ruthless drug lord.

Who is Involved in Griselda?
Besides Vergara, Griselda’s ensemble includes Alberto Guerra, Vanessa Ferlito, Alberto Ammann, Christian Tappan, Diego Trujillo, Paulina Davila, Gabriel Sloyer, Juliana Aidén Martinez, Martin Rodriguez, José Zúñiga, Maximiliano Hernández, and Julieth Restrepo.
“Griselda is inspired by the life of the savvy and ambitious Colombian businesswoman Griselda Blanco, a devoted mother who created one of the most profitable cartels in history,” the official logline reads. “Blanco’s lethal blend of unsuspected savagery and charm helped her expertly navigate between business and family, leading her to become widely known as “the Godmother.”
Griselda stems from writer and executive producer Eric Newman, the showrunner of Narcos and Narcos: Mexico. Vergara serves as an executive producer alongside Luis Balaguer, Doug Miro, and Carlo Bernard. Executive producer Andrés Baiz will direct all episodes of Griselda. Ingrid Escajeda will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
