The Summer I Turned Pretty, based on Jenny Han’s book of the same name, will be closing another chapter when the Season 2 finale arrives on Prime Video on August 18. To heighten anticipation, the streaming platform on Twitter uploaded the first-minute clip of Episode 8.
In the clip, Conrad (Christopher Briney) gets his hopes up about passing Stanford. However, the moment he sees Belly (Lola Tung) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) kissing, he quickly changes his enthusiastic mood, which brings audiences a couple of minutes back to where the seventh episode left off. The second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty has its fair share of highs and lows, including the passing of Susannah (Rachel Blanchard) and the Belly, Jeremiah, and Conrad love triangle. Episode 7 ended with Conrad and Belly kissing after a romantic confession, which Conrad — who has just taken his exams — witnessed.
The Summer That Changed It All
Belly had a wonderful summer during Season 1, which culminated in a love affair that turned her life around. However, Belly’s summer in Season 2 has been different.
“Belly used to count down the days until she could return to Cousins Beach,” the Season 2 synopsis reads. “But with Conrad and Jeremiah fighting ver her heart and the return of Susannah’s cancer, she’s not sure summer will ever be the same.“
TSITP also stars Jackie Chung as Laurel Park, Sean Kaufman as Steven Conklin, Alfredo Narciso as Cleveland Castillo, Colin Ferguson as John Conklin, Tom Everett Scott as Adam Fisher, Rain Spencer as Taylor Madison Jewel, Elsie Fisher as Skye, and Kyra Sedgwick as Julia.
While Season 2 is coming to a close soon, the coming-of-age romantic drama series will return for Season 3. You can watch the Season 2 trailer below.
